Cottage Life is a New Zealand-owned business based in Matangi, Hamilton. We build classic NZ cottages — pitched iron roofs, weatherboard cladding, covered verandas — because it's a style that works, lasts and looks great on a New Zealand property.
Around 95% of the materials in every Cottage Life build are New Zealand-sourced. Our builds are LBP supervised and meet both the NZ Building Code and Healthy Homes Standards, and we provide a CCC for all plumbing and electrical work.

A straightforward process from first enquiry to moving in. Most customers are in their cottage within 16–18 weeks.
Tell us about your site and what you need. We'll help you choose a model and work through any customisations to layouts or finishes.
Once you're happy with the design and quote, we lock in your build slot and get started on the paperwork.
Your cottage is built by our team in the Waikato over approximately 10–12 weeks, with regular updates along the way.
We deliver by Hiab truck across the North Island and parts of the South Island. Delivery costs vary by location and site access.
Final checks done, keys in hand. Your Cottage Life cottage is ready to live in from day one.
Every Cottage Life build is supervised by a Licensed Building Practitioner and meets the NZ Building Code in full.
Our builds meet Healthy Home Standards for insulation, heating, ventilation, moisture and draught stopping — ready for tenants from day one.
We provide a Code Compliance Certificate for all plumbing and electrical work included in your build.
We source the vast majority of our materials within New Zealand — supporting local suppliers and keeping the supply chain short and reliable.
